□ KFCC (President & Chairperson Park Cha Hoon) traveled to Myanmar where it conducted training for its villagers for the purpose of eliminating poverty from the country and improving the access to finance for its rural population. □ KFCC conducted a training in Myanmar for the purpose of spreading Saemaul Geumgo across the country for 7 days between Jul. 8 and 14. The training involved 93 persons as villagers from across Myanmar and village officials. The trainees returned to their villages, with the aim of creating and operating Myanmar-style Saemaul Geumgos suiting the conditions of their villages. □ The training characteristically proceeded through the collaboration among the ROK government ministries by using the local training facilities of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with a financial support from the ROK Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It was implemented as part of the Myanmar Saemaul Geumgo project which had been going on since 2016 at the request of the Myanmar government for the transfer of the financial inclusion model with Saemaul Geumgo. And it aimed at an nationwide expansion of the Saemaul Geumgos successfully formed last year in Myanmar. □ An official of KFCC said, “By tapping into the South Korean experience with and know-how for its Saemaul Geumgo and to promote the local nationwide spread of Saemaul Geumgo model, we will continue to provide supports such as invitational workshop in South Korea, local training in Myanmar, and local consulting by dispatched specialists.” |
