□ KFCC (President & Chairperson Park Cha Hoon) said that it conducted ‘the Invitational Training for Spreading Saemaul Geumgos in Uganda’ at MG HRD Institute in Cheonan for 11 days from Aug. 20. The training was organized jointly with Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the purpose of sharing the South Korean know-how for sustainable rural development through creating and operating Saemaul Geumgos in Uganda.

□ The training was joined by 9 persons including officials of the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG) and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives of Uganda as well as the leaders for the Mpigi District demonstration village creation project.

□ The trainees received education on the growth of Saemaul Geumgo, the know-how for its operations such as savings and loans, and touring of the areal Saemaul Geumgo in the rural regions. The trainees who completed the training are now back in their country, where they are expected to perform a role in solving financial alienation that keeps people from accessing financial services and creating new opportunities in financial inclusion through Saemaul Geumgo.

□ KFCC (President & Chairperson Park Cha Hoon) emphasized that “Saemaul Geumgo is the best model that can fulfill and groom the dream of diminishing poverty and improving the standard of living by staying close to the rural residents in Uganda,” and added, “After Myanmar, we will provide support through continuous cooperation to make sure that Saemaul Geumgos will be created and spread across Uganda.”
